Youth for Christ International Gathers Staff from Over 100 Countries in the Netherlands for General Assembly
Netherlands – October 19, 2023 – Youth for Christ International, the global youth-focused ministry organization, is set to host its highly anticipated and fully sold-out General Assembly event in the Netherlands from October 19-25. Approximately 1000 staff members and volunteers from more than 100 countries will convene for a week of inspiration, learning, and fellowship.
This year’s General Assembly promises to be an extraordinary event, featuring a diverse range of workshops designed to empower participants with the tools and knowledge needed to impact the lives of young people. A notable addition to the workshops is the introduction of pre-event and post-event access to relevant training materials through Pathwright, ensuring that attendees can continue their learning journey beyond the event itself.
The cultural exchange takes center stage at the Culture Fest, where attendees will have the unique opportunity to showcase their talents, national dress, and customs. This colorful celebration of diversity embodies the essence of Youth for Christ’s mission to reach young people with the gospel.
Spiritual guidance and support are integral to the event, with a dedicated Care Team offering spiritual direction, professional counseling, and pastoral care to those who seek it. This ensures that attendees receive the emotional and spiritual support they may need throughout the General Assembly.
To stay connected and make the most of their experience, participants can utilize the event app, which allows them to customize their schedules, sign up for workshops, learn more about trainers and speakers, receive real-time news and updates, and share their experiences through social media posts and more.
Additionally, non-attendees can engage with some of the presentations through MORE GA, utilizing the event app, where they can find video blog entries and streaming videos from the event.
One of the highlights of the event is the ministry fair, known as BMISE (Brilliant Ministry Ideas Swap and Exchange). Here, attendees can share and learn from one another, exploring innovative ministry models that have proven effective in reaching young people with the gospel.
Youth for Christ traditionally organizes its General Assembly every three years. However, due to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and related travel restrictions, the organization has not convened the event since 2017. This year’s gathering promises to be a much-anticipated reunion and an opportunity for the global Youth for Christ community to rekindle their shared passion and commitment to making a difference in the lives of young people worldwide.
