Reached & Rescued in Ghana
Excluded, vulnerable, dealing with extreme poverty, with a high rate of teenage pregnancy, abortion, early marriage and school dropout, young women in Ghana, especially in the growing slum communities, are in danger of being relegated to a life of poor health, difficult relationships and unhealthy living conditions.
Recognizing the need with young women for both spiritual input and practical life-skills, Youth for Christ Ghana has begun Life Skill Centers for adolescent girls. The goal is to give young women employable skills, address their social and developmental needs, and present the Gospel to them in relevant ways.
God is using this program to change lives. Over 60 girls have been enrolled in this program since its inception in 2022. Currently 32 girls are learning dressmaking in Accra, Paga, Koforidua, Ho and Tema. “By the grace of God, we have connected all girls to Christ through daily devotions, weekly counseling, and also established five Youth for Christ girls’ clubs in the communities,” said Jackson Mensah, Youth for Christ Ghana National Director.
