Christmas in Thailand

In Thailand, despite being a Buddhist country, Christmas lights still adorn the streets and Christmas trees in shopping malls. People get together with family and friends. The one percent of the population that is Christian will have special services, light candles, and sing carols.

But for the other 99 percent of the population, the spiritual aspect is missing. This is where Youth for Christ Thailand steps in. Through clubs, camps, the performing arts, and student-led evangelism groups, Youth for Christ Thailand is relevantly sharing the love of Christ with young people.

“I would like to tell you about a young man,” said Pattawit Onkchareon, Youth for Christ Thailand National Director. “He started as a new believer from an evangelism group at his university. After he accepted Christ, his family was curious if what he believed was a good thing for him. His parents sent his brother to check if our faith was safe for him. But God is amazing; his brother also became a Christian.” This young man is now a Youth for Christ staff member and is actively witnessing to unbelievers and discipling others.
