Traveling with Bus La Vida in Guatemala

This month over 150 young people will be boarding buses in Guatemala and traveling to 14 communities across the country. As part of Youth for Christ Guatemala’s Bus La Vida outreach (Bus of Life) these young people will be doing service projects and using games, sports, workshops, and festivals to share wonders of God’s love with people.

This will be the eighth time Youth for Christ Guatemala has organized Bus La Vida outreaches. Over the years the volunteers, some coming from Brazil, Mexico, Canada, and the U.S. have reached over 10,000 children, teenagers, and entire families.

“Since we started the program we see the hand of God in every moment,” said Carlos Rossil, Youth for Christ Guatemala National Director. “When we recruit volunteers, when we raise money to cover the expenses of the entire program, when we connect with the churches in the communities, we see how God opens the doors for us and supports us when we mobilize. No matter how big the budget is, we have seen how we have covered it by paying each bill.”

Ana was a young woman who came on the trip not knowing what to expect but saw God touch her life in a great way. “During an activity I was sitting alone on a bench outside the church, listening to the song ‘I’m Coming Home’ and I just began to cry and feel every word. I realized that for a long time I had been sitting outside, and Jesus had been coming out to me. But this time, it was I who wanted to come in. In the end I could return home to Jesus again.”
