As the 10th JIOI (Jeux des Iles de l’Océan  Indien) event which would involve Mauritius, Seychelles, Comoros, Madagascar, Mayotte, Maldives, Réunion and Sri Lanka draws near, YFC Réunion initiated a collaborative programme with various Mauritian Churches and Parachurch organisations. They held a 2-day seminar on the 17th and 18th of January 2019 where facilitators from South Africa, and Réunion Island briefed participants on the implications of sport in the ministry. Dylan Palan of YFC Mauritius also presented a case study on a YFC Billabong Street Basket Challenge.

Though they have set up a National Committee to coordinate all activities that will involve volunteers, meetings in this regard are ongoing at the Mauritius YFC centre. The programme coordinators are YFC Réunion (JEA), South African Sports Coalition (SASC) and International Sports Leadership School (ISLS). A Youth for Christ music group from South Africa has been approached for a series of concerts during the Games.
