Training “Superwomen” in Sweden

In December, 2016, Sweden decided to apply for a grant from Foundation for the Nations to translate a material called “Superwoman” into Swedish. This material is made for girls between 12-15 years of age and focuses on questions such as who they are, how to tackle the changes that they face as teenagers, and whether God loves them way they are or not.

Youth for Christ in Sweden received the good news that the grant came through and are very happy to be able to work on producing this material and offer it to Swedish churches. The material offers 34 sessions throughout a period of two years. As a pilot project YFC Sweden hopes to start the first Superwoman club in Västerås in autumn of 2017. Just like Rock Solid they will be offering this material free of charge on their online resource page.

Some encouraging emails YFC Sweden received from churches in Sweden about Rock Solid material:

‘WOW !!!! What a great material! I will let others know about this material and I will use it at our summer camp with our middle schoolers. I feel so inspired! Thank you very much for doing this and God bless you!’ – Miriam Persson

‘In our congregation we had no program for middle schoolers. I got a recommendation about YFC, and we started using the Rock Solid material in March and we use it every other Friday. Spring has been a test period and the young people who come to our Rock Solid clubs find the variation in the different Rock Solids session great. To connect games with teaching is awesome! The young people receives the teaching in a good way. We will continue with the Rock Solid Clubs this coming fall.’ – Per Berglund
