From the Day Care Centre of Borceag
The day care centre from the village of Borceag is run on the site of the local Baptist church. From the start of the church, the Lord has put on our hearts to minister to children at risk, as well.
From 24-26 February, Youth for Christ Moldova organised a training conference for partner churches in the social field. The themes of the seminars were: Working with Children in Difficulty, Child Protection Procedures, and God and Partners Ministry Builders. The goal of the training was to equip churches with knowledge and documentation necessary to work with cases of abuse and to prevent abuse. At the same time, they learned how to lay a healthy foundation for their ministry in the community to be more effective.
Social specialists Gwen Ross and Stephen Knox from the UK did part of the training in addition to the input from the YFCM staff. The themes discussed at the conference sparked great interest from our partners and we had a great attendance of 75 people.
For the first time we invited also representatives from organisations working with children at risk that are not in direct collaboration with us. Among them the seminars were greatly appreciated as well.
