Josue Akowanou
Josue began his Christian journey in December 1990, in Aneho, Togo, where he made a commitment to be a lifelong follower of Jesus Christ, during an outreach in his school.
After his return to his home country Benin because of civil war in Togo, he joined a Youth for Christ club in his high school in Cotonou, Benin. His attendance at the club helped him to grow and enabled him to become a grounded follower of Jesus. Two years later he became club leader, and led his school club with outstanding leadership. When he left for university he had been promoted to Youth for Christ regional coordinator for the capital city of Benin.
Four years later he earned his bachelors degree in Veterinary Science and received the call from the Lord to engage in full time ministry with Youth for Christ. In 2000 he was appointed the National Director in Benin.
In 2003 he married Prisca. In 2004 he became a member of the West Africa Training Team and also a member of Africa Translating Team translating Youth for Christ documents into French. In 2006 he became the Leader of the West Africa Training Team.
In 2010 Josue was appointed the Regional Director for the French speaking nations of West Africa.
The Akowanous have 2 sons; Isaak, born in 2006 and Gideon in 2010.
