Youth Compete in Jamaica's National Talent Competition

Discover Jesus Mission

Jamaica hosts six missions each year. This year’s missions have included Red Hills Road – St. Andrew, Junction – St. Elizabeth and May Pen – Clarendon.

The most recent mission was held in the Cavalier & Salsbury communities in St. Andrew. Approximately 30 people made salvation decisions. Each year Youth for Christ hosts an Evangelism Training Camp which is held over one weekend. The Training involves theory as well as practical experience.

Just Another Friday Movie

jamjafThe premiere was a festive, red carpet affair held at Red Bones Cafe in Kingston. The event attracted people from all age groups in Youth for Christ as well as donors and media.

The Youth for Christ drama group “Acts 12″ were on display as they proudly celebrated this film actor’s milestone.

The movie now boasts a Best Jamaican Feature Film Award which it received in July from the Caribbean Reggae Film Festival.

Operation Asphalt

Operation Asphalt is a mission project involving the distribution of both groceries and clothing.

Once per month, Youth for Christ in St. Andrew takes warm meals to the Poor Relief Centre downtown, to Kingston and to displaced people.

Overseas Missions

jamazteamEach year Jamaica hosts ministry teams during spring, Summer Heritage and the Christmas Break.

Over 200 people from the USA travel to the island annually to give of themselves in ministry to schools, churches, the juvenile remand centre and other community outreaches.

The program often involves music, puppetry, mime, testimonies and the spoken word. So far this year, three teams have served in this way.

Caribbean Missions

jamcaribThe team went to St. Lucia this year for three weeks.

Attendees participated in camps, evangelism workshops, prison ministry, radio programs and street rallies.

Camp Glorious

This year, Jamaica embarked on a new Vacation Bible School model developed by the Caribbean Youth for Christ team.

Four Camps were held: Cross Roads, Harbour View, Vineyard Town and St. Johns Road. The day camps were well supported; the classes were divided into four group targeting ages 5-15.

Saturday Night Vibes

Hosted weekly in Mandeville, Saturday Night Vibes showcases specific themes such as spotlight, DJ vibes, rap sessions and more. This new strategy exposed many new and upcoming talents and has rejuvenated the Youth for Christ team in Mandeville.

National Talents for Christ

jamtfcNational Talents for Christ will be held on Saturday November 16, 2013 in Montego Bay, St. James.

Young people from all the Youth for Christ centres will compete in over ten categories such as music, speech, quiz and dance.

It promises to be great as each centre competes for the National Trophy.
