STATIONS OF THE CROSS in RIJEKA

Four classes, or 70 children aged 6-8 together with their 9 teachers, journeyed through the Stations for an hour and a half. They heard that Lord Jesus was condemned, tortured and crucified for our sins. We listened to a worship song, prayed together, talked about God’s sacrifice, love and mercy for us. And at the end, the Good News that Christ has risen from the dead!

Jesus carried the heavy cross for you and me. Children and teachers received cards and pens to confess their own burdens and sins.

Usually there are 14 Stations of the Cross, that depict Jesus’s pain, suffering and death. But we have the 15th Station of Jesus’s Resurrection. That is where they receive envelopes with the Easter story to open on Easter Sunday.

700 people have walked all 15 interactive Stations of the Cross and were challenged to take up their own cross and follow Jesus, whether children or adults. It was an effective spiritual preparation for Easter and people had amazing impressions from the journey.
