SYRIA, LEBANON, IRAQ, TURKEY, HAITI…USA?
Refugee. Say the word and you and I often think of Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Turkey, and refugee camps around the world. Yet in our last newsletter, you met Marvens, a young man who left Haiti when he was just 12 and moved in with his aunt in South Florida. He was seeking refuge from an impoverished and troubled land. It wasn’t easy leaving behind his immediate family, his country, his home. But he came seeking and hoping for a brighter future.
Thanks to you, Marvens, and many more like him, are finding hope and hew life – in Jesus! Along the way, Marvens got involved in Youth for Christ Miami. His involvement is increasing his thirst for Jesus. He is passionate about sharing Jesus with anyone near him and his passion is contagious.
You, through Youth for Christ International, are planting seeds of hope in the lives of young people around the world, including other refugee young people. For example, Youth for Christ Christmas camps in Lebanon not only provide for physical needs (like sweaters) and social needs (like a chance just to be a kid and have some fun), but also share the wonderful Gospel message of Christmas with refugee young people who are hearing it for the first time.
