Reaching Hearts for Christ: April's Incredible Outreach in Kenya

Kenya Youth for Christ is filled with gratitude to God for the opportunity to touch the lives of 5,563 children and teens during April. Through Vacation Bible School (VBS) and various outreach activities, their mission teams brought the love and message of Jesus Christ to young people in Nairobi, Bungoma, Samburu, Machakos, Meru, Usin Gishu, and Tharaka-Nithi counties.

The impact of witnessing children come to Christ fills the team with hope for the future of this ministry. They trust that the word of God will take root and flourish abundantly in these young lives.

One of the highlights of their outreach was the VBS held in Mt. Elgon, where they introduced the ‘Worth the Wait’ sexual purity program to upper primary classes, grades 6 and 7, and high school students. At the end of the program, they invited the students to write down their questions, many of which focused on breaking unhealthy relationships. One student asked, “How can I stop a relationship that I’ve been in since I was in grade 4?”

The conviction of the Holy Spirit was truly present, leading many teens to desire change in their lives. One teen remarked, “This teaching has helped me grow so much. Now I have changed my behavior and will follow Christ as a friend.” Others were moved to make Christ their personal Savior. In a written testimony, one student shared, “The teachings have really built me as a youth on how I can receive Jesus Christ in my life and grow in Him. I am really blessed.”

Local volunteers praised the ‘Worth the Wait’ program and the interactive presentation by the mission team. They requested that the program be rolled out in schools and churches around Mt. Elgon, an area significantly affected by teenage pregnancies.
