Although Youth for Christ Mexico had not yet officially started their Food Shelf ministry, they received close to 600 pounds of beans and potatoes through a generous donation. Many of the donated items were quickly distributed from the place destined to become the food bank.
A kilogram of beans, five pounds of potatoes and chocolate cookies have already served 135 families. Each recipient also received prayer and the Good News of Jesus.
Although it is heartbreaking to see the tremendous need, it is encouraging to see how God works through his people to meet the needs.
One lady said,
“Thank you. We thought we were forgotten by God and men.”
