Musa Ntaisi is a volunteer with Youth for Christ in Africa. This is his story with excerpts of his salvation journey which he says, “I shared with wobbly knees as I stood in front of a crowd. Opening up in this way about my life made me feel vulnerable and with mixed emotions but the presence of God helped me stand and speak.“
I spoke about identity, self- worth and confidence in what God has put and done in us. Words spoken to me shaped how I viewed myself growing up. Having lost both parents, I felt like I would never amount to anything as I contemplated suicide because then I had nothing to live for and the future also seemed bleak. Taking drugs was the only way I knew to numb the pain I felt within, but it kept coming back.
After it seemed like all was lost, God came through to me with this passage…….. “The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18
I was brought to my knees in total surrender to God. Now, my growing dependency on Him and His Word has helped me have a hunger for life and a hope for a future in Him. I am so passionate to let young people know that no matter where they are in life, what has been said over their lives or even what has been lost, they should always remember that today God promises us a brighter tomorrow.
