Greenwich Planning Follow-Up After Olympic Outreach

Greenwich Youth for Christ (part of British YFC) had quite a summer.

Ten packed days of activities during the Olympics delivered in three clusters of churches: Greenwich, Blackheath and Lee Green.  Over four hundred volunteers from eleven churches worked together to provide activities for over 1000 young people.

They welcomed 33 volunteers from overseas and the rest of the UK. There were many new partnerships between churches, with a significant impact on children and young people.

Recalling the smiling faces, the laughter, the new friendships, and the trust from the summer’s events, many are wondering “What happens next?” Greenwich YFC is working on ideas to follow up with those who participated to continue the impact well beyond the Olympics.

Youth for Christ was a participant with More than Gold, reaching children and young people through holiday clubs, sports clinics, schools, and youth cafés.

Below is a video featuring the More than Gold Torch Journey, showing just a few of the highlights of ministry throughout the UK during the Olympics.
