Youth for Christ has already organized four camps this summer. Eight more are still scheduled. In the current context, leaders say it remains a challenge but they are grateful that they didn’t have to cancel everything.
Just completed is a camp with about 20 Roma teenagers who live near Poarta Oilor, the centre Youth for Christ is planning to purchase. It wasn’t a camp in their program but a request was made at the end of June to organize something with them. A week later, a donation came to pay the full cost of the camp, confirming that God was at work.
These young people all have very painful life stories and therefore difficult behaviours in group life. Organisers often had to refocus the young people and insist on simple instructions. But what a joy to see them having fun in the pool and to see them all attentive to the message of the Gospel.
