Seeking - Director of Communications and Marketing

The Director of Communications and Marketing at Youth for Christ International (YFCI) plays a pivotal role in managing the organization’s public relations and communication strategies.

This position oversees both internal and external communications, including press releases, social media, newsletters, and crisis communications, ensuring that YFCI’s message resonates with its global audience. The Director is also responsible for enhancing YFCI’s brand identity and working closely with the development team to support fundraising efforts through compelling storytelling and strategic marketing initiatives.

This leadership role requires a strong background in marketing, communications, or public relations, ideally within the nonprofit sector, and involves supervising the Communications and Marketing department. The Director will also be expected to contribute to the spiritual life of YFCI by participating in prayer, worship, and Bible study, while also managing donor relationships and participating in international travel as part of their duties. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strategic communication skills, media relations expertise, and the ability to lead a team in effectively conveying YFCI’s mission of youth evangelism and leadership development.

Job Title: Director of Communications & Marketing

Full-Time: 40 hours/week

Location: US-based or Remote. (Note: International Service Center is located in Denver, Colorado.)

Salary: 100% Support Raising

Reports to: CEO of Youth For Christ International

The role of Director of Communications and Marketing is to manage YFCI’s public relations and communications strategy,  including both internal and external communications.

Core Duties Include:

  • Public Relations: Overseeing all official communication channels between YFCI and the public, such as press releases,  social media, newsletters, annual reports and public statements. This includes developing messaging and content, brand recognition, and a solid social media presence.
  • Internal Communications: Oversee newsletters and company intranets. Providing excellent communication tools, updates, and information to the different leadership levels of the Youth for Christ international movement.  Keeping the internal family of YFC informed and aware of how God is moving among young people globally.
  • Marketing: Telling the story of how the organisation delivers on its purpose and promise can help in  fundraising and recruitment of staff, volunteers, and board members. By overseeing internal and  external communications, developing and executing marketing and communication strategies,  and managing other communication staff, YFCI can showcase its presence around the world  online and in print, written and video/audio.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, public relations preferred
  • Minimum of five years experience in marketing, communications or public relations with  demonstrated success, preferably in the not-for-profit or association sector. Experience working with volunteers is desirable.
  • Knowledge Google Suite, AWS, Microsoft Office; Be familiar with multimedia production, including video, audio, and graphic design basics.
