South African Children Get An Easter Treat

"We wanted the children to know and understand the importance and meaning of Easter and Good Friday and its role in our lives. I am very excited that we managed to make this program a success and we hope that the children now have a better understanding."

On the 25th of April 2019, Youth for Christ KwaZulu-Natal in partnership with the Durban University of Technology Public Relations Management students held an Easter Thursday program at the Mountain Rise Community drop-in Centre. The purpose of the program was for DUT students to spend time with the children and to educate them about Easter, Passover and Good Friday. The children enjoyed Easter eggs and a play date after the learning session.

Nokwanda Zuma, who was one of the organizers, said it was important for them to host this program. “We wanted the children to know and understand the importance and meaning of Easter and Good Friday and its role in our lives. I am very excited that we managed to make this program a success and we hope that the children now have a better understanding”, said Zuma.

Zothani Ndlovu (4) was excited over the program and enjoyed the Easter egg treats. “Please do come and visit us often. It was nice spending time with you and teaching us about Easter and Good Friday. Thank you for the Easter egg chocolate,” said Ndlovu excitedly.
