Rock Solid Camp (Czech Republic)

"Campers searched for Jesus´ body in the grave, fought the final battle and found… an empty grave."

In the middle of August, Youth for Christ took young people from several Rock Solid clubs around the Czech Republic on a Rock Solid Camp to the village called Lelekovice u Brna. Many experienced leaders were unfortunately unable to go, and so their places were taken by young volunteers that wonderfully managed to fill in the gap.

Participants became medieval treasure hunters, whose goal was to discover and to save long lost Biblical artifacts. Leaders talked about many people of God and their life stories. As the last treasure, campers searched for Jesus´ body in the grave, fought the final battle and found… an empty grave. On the last evening, the camp chef shared the important message that we do not have to look for treasures around us, but each one of us is a treasure him or herself as a beloved child of God. Each camper took home a poem describing himself/herself.

Leaders expressed gratitude that God used the time, including strengths and failures to bring the hearts of not only the young participants, but also of leaders, even closer to Him. In the end, many participants took home a new Bible with signatures of the others. Pray with us that the Holy Spirit will constantly encourage them to open it and read it.

A couple of words written by the participants about the camp:

  • The people were great, the food was great, the company was awesome.

  • I enjoyed the activities and sitting by the campfire.

  • The best camp in Lelekovice

  • Great jokes, quotes, games, reflections, encouragements and Fero Fero (Pharao – Pharao).

  • A summer without RSC camp is no summer at all.
