From Dave Brereton, National Director
Youth for Christ Canada is excited to announce a new national movement called “loveworks.”
Loveworks is all about inspiring and empowering young people to change their world. Regardless of your age, we believe that you have what it takes to create a better future for our world and we are here to help you do it.
Our goal is to leverage the creativity and compassion of a privileged generation for the good of our fellow humans who are in desperate need around the world. We do this by challenging a generation to work together to meet critical global need in 8 key areas through creative projects. 8 weeks at a time.
These include clean water, economic development, education, food security, HIV/AIDS, medical care and orphans. These 8 certainly do not address every need our world faces but we believe that these 8 are the most basic needs that must be met for a person or community to experience health, hope, and fullness of life.
By tackling all 8 areas together in a community we create lasting hope for years to come. It’s really simple. We run two 8-week challenges each year (spring and fall) and challenge schools, universities, youth groups, churches, sports teams, and anyone crazy enough to join us to do 5 things: Grab your friends, choose your cause, create your campaign, change your world and tell your story.
