To celebrate the end of the Lebanon YFC’s first year of “D” Groups, and to launch the start of a new year, the first ever Discipleship Group Retreat was held on the last weekend of August. Thirty students and 10 leaders were gathered together for 24 hours of fun, encouragement, teaching and worship.

The speaker for the weekend, John Hess, did a great job of sharing in very practical ways, why and how each person needs to spend time in God’s word, teaching from Moses about setting aside a “tent of meeting” place, meeting with God face to face and being different from the world because of His presence. On the second day John taught on why and how students share their faith with others, through sharing their lives.

The group concluded their time together by recommitting themselves to the process of being transformed into disciples of Jesus, to meeting together regularly to study and learn, to encourage each other and to hold themselves accountable to the work that God is doing in their lives.

Please continue to pray for these young disciples, and the leaders that are walking this journey with them.  Each has the desire to become more and more like Jesus, living their lives in a way that is not only pleasing and honoring to him, but is also a beacon of light and hope to those around them.
