Youth Camps, City Outreaches introduce thousands to the Gospel in Delhi

TAMILNADU YOUTH CONVENTION

500 young people from various parts of Tamilnadu gathered at Keren Matric Hr. Sec School, Chenkanoor, Madurai for a camp from 14 – 17 January, 2012. The theme of the camp was “Mirror”. Every morning the Bible study was taken by Mr. Vijay Thangiah, the National Director for Youth for Christ in India.

Many young people grew in their faith as others committed their lives to the Lord for the first time. Various aspects of life such as handling failures, media, quiet time, values, and relationships were addressed in seminars taught by Youth for Christ staff.  Bible quizzing and debates  were just a few of the afternoon activities. The Tamilnadu music team “Yasha” led in the time of singing.

The leaders of the camp are rejoicing over the 250 young people who committed themselves to the Lord. Forty Seven young people made a fist time commitment, 44 young people decided to go into full time ministry. Pray for all these young people that they will stand firm in their decisions.

God used His servants Bro. Peter Samuel (Hyderabad) & Bro. Evans (Guntur) for His glory in ministering the Word on the theme. The Youth for Christ staff workers Nehemaiah, Kishore and Sangeet Rao taught on the importance of prayer, and personal evangelism, from the Scriptures.

A WALK THROUGH THE WINTER WONDERLAND

Each year Youth for Christ in Delhi does outreach in different places during the Christmas season but this time, they felt led to do something that they had not done before – something different, something more creative – and along with that, God impressed on the leaders the urgency of sharing the Good News with the young people of the city of Delhi.

After much prayer the team decided to focus on a message about the uncertainty of life balanced with the hope that Christmas brings.

The staff were able to do the Christmas program in all the places they had hoped (see list below).

Youth for Christ was truly able to reach the entire city with the gospel, as their entire program was broadcast on a local radio station on 25th December.

God helped the team to reach out to thousands of people during this Christmas season. Despite the challenges of extremely cold weather conditions, transportation, finances and bad health, it was a fruitful time that taught ‘if God is for us then who can be against us?’.
