In early January, Youth for Christ Argentina took a bunch of the ALLOY-All Our Youth- kids, and some of their families, to Chascomus for a weekend of camping and bike riding. The adventurous crew of 40 all returned with sun burned faces, and deeper friendships with each other.
A few of the highlights from the weekend:
- everyone making it around the 30 km lagoon at least once
- a hot dog and s’more roast
- camp fire songs
- beautiful sunset the first night.
After spending three days with the same people in such close quarters, and needing to both encourage and be encouraged as the group biked around the lake, the relationships went beyond surface conversations as the participants had to rely on each other throughout the journey. The excitement and smiles, along with the sheer exhaustion, on the faces of the kids as they arrived back into camp after finishing a ride was incredible. They were so proud of themselves, once they knew that they could do it. Some of them did not want to stop or even go home again.
God was present this weekend both in the beautiful weather he provided, the nature he created for everyone to enjoy and the conversation and fellowship.
