Who Would You Be?

leb1On a cold day, January 2nd, Youth for Christ in Lebanon invited youth from the 6 local churches they partner with to a fun half-day of big games, breakfast, worship, a talk, discussion, lunch and gifts distribution. 70 youth were able to attend and many did not have a heavy jacket to fight the cold.

Partners donated towards buying jackets for the teens who were so happy to receive this gift right when they needed it! This has become an annual Christmas event and the main goal is to help youth understand the true Christmas message. The message this time was delivered through telling stories about Christmas characters who said “Yes” to God concerning the birth of the Messiah.

While the leader was telling the stories, he asked a number of youth to act the scenes out. After that participants made posters out of the Christmas characters. During discussion time leaders asked the youth: “which of the characters would you choose to be?” One young man replied: “I liked the angels because they told people about Jesus; I want to tell people about Jesus too.” Another reply was “I would choose to be Mary, because she obeyed God when it was so difficult.”

What a blessing to be part of this ministry seeing Syrian refugee youth interacting with the life events of Christ and making a decision to follow Him.
