Ukraine Ministry Evangelizing at Euro 2012

Tyoma Kondrashov, YFC Ukraine Sports Ministry Coordinator

The 2012 UEFA European Football Championship, commonly referred to as Euro 2012, was the 14th European Championship for national football teams organised by UEFA. The final tournament, hosted partly by Ukraine, saw Youth for Christ actively participating in evangelism.

YFC Ukraine provided broadcast of the matches, took an active part in Christian Fan zones and preached the Gospel. One partnering church invited Christian football (CFL) players from England to come. The team came and three days in a row they played games with CFL teams.

The Christian Football League games provided a great atmosphere. Not only were the international games very interesting, but there were also a lot of fans. After the games players enjoyed a great tie of fellowship with tea, lots of pizza, and soda. They exchanged experiences, and most importantly, the Word of God and the testimonies of believers.

After the meetings, some of the guys took the time to thank YFC Ukraine for the great time and the fun they had, and for what the Christian footballers do for them.
