Uganda Visit Proves Insightful for Foundation Reps

Foundation for the Nations is an initiative by Youth For Christ to draw together suitable Youth for Christ projects from around the world with those who have the financial capacity to make them happen.

unnamed(14)Representing the Foundation, David Schultz (see picture, left) & Troy Crosson (see picture, right) have just completed a grueling but rewarding look at three projects that the Foundation has facilitated funds for already.

The two men returned with invaluable information on how the money has been used and the impact the grants are still making in their respective countries, and they will bring detailed reports to the Project Partners in Florida in May.

David writes: “We had quite a trip. January 13 – 31; 19 days, 15 flights, 6 different airlines, 4 countries.” (And one might add: about 70 hours total in minivans driving up to 16 or 17 hours a day to see projects in remote areas over poor roads populated in places by drivers with a death-wish!)

The photo above shows them with Miriam Koote, the National Youth for Christ Director in Uganda (beside Troy) with the Mayor of the local village where one centre is located (in the white shirt) and two of his elected councilors. They had undergone the leadership training that the Foundation helped to fund, and asked for more, saying that it was teaching them a whole new way of leading and serving with humility.
