Ministry Can Be Messy

Melissa Verdugo, World Outreach staff in The Seychelles

2After a downpour one Thursday in the Seychelles, the boys wanted to play soccer like they always do at their Youth for Christ Campus Life club. It was one of those times they will probably never forget. They were quickly covered in mud and the water taps had to be used as showers afterwards, but their beaming faces and shouts of joy showed it was all worth it.

Crazy games and sports are not the only thing messy about youth ministry. Youth workers often have to deal with messy situations with the young people to whom they minister – things like suicidal tendencies, sexual abuse victims, quarrelling friends, and young people facing extreme losses.

Please pray for wisdom and peace for Youth for Christ staff and volunteers around the world as they face these messy situations. And please pray for the youth to find peace, love, and emotional healing in Jesus.
