May 27-29 marked the celebration of European Union Children’s Day in Budapest.
Youth for Christ in Hungary invited Youth for Christ in Denmark to join the events of the weekend. Program events included:
- a carnival of horse carriages and limousines escorted by the police
- a water circus performance
- a concert
- a visit to the Parliament
- a visit to the Budapest Zoo
- a boat trip on the Danube
The whole program was operated by the Hungarian Baptist Aid, with Youth for Christ partnering to run the event. All together around 250 teenagers from around the European Union attended.
God was so good to provide nice weather that we could enjoy the time together.
Denmark sent ten wonderful teenagers who came with Finn Kier-Hansen (National Director of Youth for Christ in Denmark) and Leif Johanson (former ND). The Hungarian team had a great opportunity to get to know the Danish teens, and to introduce them to the Hungarian young people.
It was lovely to see how teenagers communicate through games and how they can understand one another’s fun languages. We pray that God continues to bless this friendship between countries.
